1000s of torii gates at night

After visiting some temples and walking the philosophers path we stopped for dinner. Omen do noodles and I was craving vegetables and they certainly delivered on both counts. You are given everything separately then you put your vegetables in the soup with sesame seeds then you dip in your udon noodles before eating them. The seared tuna and boiled octopus were also tasty.

Everything is spread out in Kyoto and there is far too much to see so we thought we'd see the torii gates at Inari shrine at night. So we hopped on the bus for the station then on the train to Inari. There are 1000 gates on a 4k path up to the shrine on the hill, with little shrines on the way. We didn't do the whole walk but it was atmospheric at night and there were no crowds of tourists. The photo is of the shrine at the bottom of the hill unfortunately I didn't get one of the gates on my phone.
